Use Rhodes Dough Loaves for bread dough. Take out of the freezer the night before and put them in the fridge to de-thaw. In the morning take out the loaves and cut into bread sticks. It should be easy to cut because they are still slightly frozen so it won't be too sticky.
Cutting Instructions:
Each loaf will make 12 bread sticks. To cut a loaf into 12 sticks you must first cut loaf into 3 equal parts. Then cut those 3 parts each in half to make 6 equal parts then finish by cutting all six in half to make 12 equal parts.
Butter Mixture:
Separately take one less stick of butter then the number of loaves you are making. For example if you are making 2 loaves (24 bread sticks) you will use 1 stick of butter. If you are making 3 loaves(36 bread sticks) you will use 2 sticks of butter. The only exception to this rule is when making 1 loaf use 1/2 sticks butter. You will melt the butter completely in the microwave. Then add 2 T. Garlic Salt to every 1 stick of butter. If you are only using 1/2 a stick of butter only add 1 T. Garlic Salt. Mix with a fork.
Preparing:
Completely immerse each bread stick into butter and garlic mixture and let the excess drip off. Then place on a cookie sheet. Each bread stick will be spaced about a half an inch apart till all 12 are laid out on one cookie sheet. I like to cover my cookie sheet with tin foil because it makes for easier clean up. You do not need to spray the pan or foil because the dough will be coated in butter and shouldn't stick. Once all your bread sticks have been placed on the pan you will sprinkle them with powdered Parmesan cheese. Then set your pans aside and allow them to rise all day or at least 6 hours.
Baking:
When your bread sticks have risen pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 10 to 15 mins until lightly golden on top.
These are a family favorite of ours and we love to eat them with pasta or homemade chili! Enjoy!
